A Web Application for a Public Office

Initial Position

The subject of the internal control system (ICS) has become increasingly important in public administration. Various cantons have legally anchored an ICS for the towns, including the Canton of Solothurn. The offices of the City of Olten recognized the need for software that supports the internal control system early on and looked for a solution. Existing solutions could not meet the requirements of the local community. For this reason, it was decided to have new software developed that perfectly meets the needs. When looking for the right partner, the City of Olten struck gold with Sitewerk.

A User-Friendly Web Application

In close cooperation with the representatives of the City of Olten, the requirements and needs for an ICS application were developed. Despite the wide range of functions, this should not appear overloaded and should be super easy to use. This challenge has spurred all parties on to give their best. The result is a solution that is highly valued by users and ensures that internal control system processes are adhered to. The internal controls are carried out at the right time and corresponding reports are available at the push of a button.

Individual Software becomes a Product – adminera iks

Since the application was so well received, Sitewerk, in partnership with the City of Olten, has developed the software further and launched a product from it. adminera iks was born and aims to support other communities and companies in their internal control systems.

Technology

The backbone of the scalable IKS cloud software is provided by the Azure cloud, in which a .NET Core (C#) backend and a PostgreSQL database do their work. The front end and thus the user interface is an Angular Web App, more precisely a single page application.
